HOW TO CONTACT US
How to Contact The NHFP If You Need Immediate Assistance for Veterinary Hospice Care
If you are in need of immediate assistance for veterinary hospice care for a companion animal and cannot locate a hospice veterinarian in your city or state through our Hospice Veterinarians database, you can contact The NHFP by calling (707) 557-8595 or leaving a message at this number (by pressing option 3). Please be patient. We try to respond to all incoming calls within 24 to 72 hours, but given our limited staff, this is not always possible. If we cannot find a veterinarian to help you, we will place you in contact with one of our board or advisory board veterinarians, who will either consult with you directly or ask to network with your own animal health care practitioner. Please do not send us an email if you are in an emergency situation—call us instead. Email should be reserved to request informational packets or copies of articles about The NHFP and for all other non-urgent matters. As most telephone consultations concerning veterinary hospice care often take from 30 minutes to 1 hour, you may ask us to call you back if long-distance telephone charges are a concern for you. The NHFP has a special telephone connection plan that is effective 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, within the United States, regardless of location. There is no charge to the public for telephone consultations.
